Our first deer of the trip.
We "climbed" up to the summit of Mt. Greylock (3,491 ft) to see some great vistas and the Veteran's Monument, a light that is lit all year round.

We travel through some very New England towns on our journey with some points of interest and architecture. Plus of course, we are in America, so we have monuments to all sorts of things, such as great cheeses, and presidents that supported industry. Then there are memorials to the fallen in all sorts of wars from the War of Independence, through the two World Wars and then onto Korea, Vietnam, etc. In one town the old bridge has been replanted as a memorial with flowers. It is superb now, but wait until all the plants are in flower. Then we cant be without the quirky. An ATM in a tree!! Where else than in America for a drive up ATM!

Weather wise, it has been a bit chilly but the sun has been shining. A new state tomorrow, and it is now my research. Aghh, the pressure. Let's hope that things can at least go smoothly for the first day!
Lovely to see the covered bridges....you`ll need to go to Canada to see the longest though!
ReplyDeleteThe views from the `mountain top` are spectacular as are those very timid deer. An ATM in a tree?!! - I guess if you have a big enough tree that needs keeping ....then that`s the way to go! Eve
Fantastic photos Jenny. Sounds like a great time is being had...
ReplyDeleteWhere are the Hobbits that use that ATM, I wonder??
