Scenery Day in Connecticut and Massachusetts

Blue skies, nothing but blue skies do I see ! (sorry about the plagiarism)

First stop is a covered bridge. First one in Massachusetts. At the same location is a monument to the "Off World" encounter by Thomas E. Reed and his family. The encounter with a UFO has been awarded a Governor's Citation and is now recognised as part of the history of Massachusetts. No joke!

Our drive continues and we pass through heavily wooded hills. It is so green. We can only imagine how crowded this place would be in the Autumn. The hills would be aflame with colour, but the traffic would be bumper to bumper. We cross the border and see a lovely church and a Civil War Soldier's monument.

We're back across the border on a back road, and see one of the few actual border markers between the states.

We come across a private covered bridge on our journey, and Otis Reservoir that has plenty of lake side properties.

We tried to find some black squirrels at Westfield but they didn't co-operate and we really only caught a glimpse high in the trees. Our last stop for the day was at another presidential museum, this one no where near as big as JFK's. It is for Calvin Coolidge who presided after WW1, and his library is part of the Forbes library in Northampton.

We do get around but today we said good-bye to Connecticut for good this trip. Off to new places and sights tomorrow.
